US hardwoods

R&D projects

During the past ten years, I have developed a technology to incorporate the use of oak into green sustainable building. One of my objectives was to increase the price of oak to engage the forestry and the sawmills into a preservation program. The technology has been engineered and a first prototype has been built. The prototype was a house two storage 41 x 28, 2296 sqf sold $119/sqf. The energy consumption was 31 kw/m²/y.
When using 36% hardwood in a construction, I have also designed a business model to save 0.53 hectare of rain forest per each m3 of wood. A house two storages, 2296 sqf would save 5.89 hectares of rainforest.
